Alaska Endeavour

On the research vessel Endeavour, we take scientists and others to some of the most remote, wild, and beautiful coastlines in Alaska, from Southeast up into the Arctic. The goal of everyone on board is to advance science and support more thoughtful conservation and preservation.

We partner with researchers doing important work -- biologists, geologists, ornithologists, archeologists, paleontologists, anthropologists, botanists, glaciologists, film crews, historians, and others. 

Typically, we and our supporters help fund these expeditions. 

We find people who want to work alongside the scientists as research assistants. They get their hands dirty and do real work. Their contributions help fund the expedition.

 

For longer or more complex expeditions, we solicit grants and donations to cover the costs.

 

Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we also offer a Wilderness Mariner class for eight students, giving them hands-on experience handling a boat in remote waters. Their tuition helps offset the expensive of the research expeditions. 

The Endeavour is run by Alaska Endeavour, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting science, education, conservation, and preservation.
